Fixatex is a 25 year old company delivering electrical services, fire alarms, and emergency lighting to clients all over London and the Southeast. We're a family owned and operated firm with our head office, warehouse, and dedicated training centre in Hertford.

We build these connections when ensuring residents homes are electrically safe, when replacing lighting to make estates safer at night and sometimes just over a cup of tea when talking to a residents committee.



General Role Description

 

We are seeking a FRA Engineer to work in our reactive maintenance team. You will

be working in a variety of properties including domestic and commercial, mainly social housing or council properties across London and surrounding counties.

Works included but not limited to; surveying, installing, and commissioning emergency lighting systems and domestic fire detection systems, composed of mains powered, grade D smoke and heat detectors linked to wireless gateways and any ad hoc works identified from Fire Risk Assessments.

Experience of working from mobile devices is essential to complete job sheets electronically in an accurate and timely manner.

 

The post holder will assume responsibility for completing all jobs assigned to them by the company. The company will expect all jobs to be completed to a high standard with the job holder using all technical knowledge to do so.

  • Quality and standard of works
  • To maintain company supplied equipment and PPE 
  • To maintain clean company vehicles in accordance with our company fleet handbook
  • To maintain a professional appearance wearing company supplied uniform and identification badge

 

Responsibilities and Duties:  

 

  • Install or modify grade D fire detection systems and emergency lighting systems.
  • Rectify issues on site that have been identified from Fire Risk Assessments
  • Complete the relevant commissioning certification for the installed systems.

  • Document all relevant information accurately and in a timely manner using the Oneserve application.
  • To deliver excellent customer service
  • To undertake any training provided by the company 
  • To fully participate with performance improvement programmes, including appraisals 
  • To liaise with office staff and supervisors to assist in the resolving of queries
  • To support any business change for the benefit of the company 
  • Adhere to any KPI’s set by the company 
  • Any ad-hoc duties as reasonably instructed by a line manager or director  
  • Ensure safe working procedures in accordance with the current health and safety regulations and all other relevant regulations.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach in all communications and interactions in the community, ensuring Fixatex is represented to the highest standards at all times.

  • Good knowledge of the electrical industry including electrical and building regulations
  • A strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements

Qualifications  

 

  • Level 3 electrotechnical qualification in electrical installation
  • 18th Edition regulations qualification
  • Desirable: City and Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing or equivalent.

Travel and Hours



In order to perform your duties, you may be asked to travel to locations around the United Kingdom to undertake assignments. You will be required to work from Monday to Friday for 8 hours a day with an hour’s un-paid break, with the core hours of work being 8:00am to 17:00pm; however, timings can be made more flexible in certain circumstances.  In addition to your normal hours, you will also be required to work overtime as dictated by the needs of the business, with reasonable notice. This could include un-sociable hours such as evenings and weekends.
