Sysco GB are now recruiting a Trainee Management Accountant to join the Controls Finance team on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner Controls, this is a key role that will be responsible for the Fixed Asset accounting for Sysco GB and the Assets under Construction accounting for all Sysco GB divisions. This role also holds responsibility for monitoring Intercompany recharges between Sysco GB divisions and Sysco Ireland to ensure that these are reconciled on a monthly basis and cash settlement is completed quarterly. You will focus on execution and continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting whilst providing insight and adding value across the team.
Sysco GB has an exciting 5-year growth strategy plan involving some large-scale transformation programmes and projects, so this is a perfect role and business for someone who enjoys working with senior stakeholders whilst also looking to gain exposure and experience in a commercial finance setting.
This is a home-based role, however you will be required to attend the Ashford, Kent office once per week for team collaboration and meetings, so flexibility is required.
Key Accountabilities;
Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register for Sysco GB divisions, including posting of monthly depreciation charges within multiple ERPs
Assisting in the quarterly Fixed Asset Verification process, working closely with business stakeholders to verify the existence of assets and the remaining Useful Economic Life of these assets
Monitoring the Assets under Construction, liaising with business stakeholders to identify completion points when an identifiable asset can be recognised and capitalised within system
Monthly monitoring of intercompany recharges between Sysco GB divisions, and reconciling with counter parts to ensure these are aligned
Quarterly settlement of intercompany trading account with Sysco Ireland
Reporting into Group Consolidation System (BPC)
Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations via Cadency Trintech tool
External & Internal Audit support
Annual Statutory Accounts and Corporation Tax support
Ad hoc project support in a Transformational environment
You;
You will ideally have experience working within a fast-paced finance environment, and will be either; AAT Level 4 qualified; part qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA); or hold a Finance / Accounting degree or equivalent, looking to start studying or continue studying towards your CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification.
We are looking for someone who holds strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand and interpret complex information. You will have strong communication skills with colleagues at all levels and be able to clearly explain financial matters to colleagues across the business. Excellent attention to detail is required as well as the ability to identify resolutions to issues that arise. Flexibility to travel to Ashford, Kent each week is essential.
